How to remove Stickers from your Car

If you're dealing with vinyl stickers - all the stickers we sell at Bump Stick are vinyl stickers -  here's how you can remove them from your car using warm water:

  1. Prepare Warm Water: Fill a bucket or basin with warm water. Ensure that the water is comfortably warm, not hot, to prevent any damage to the car's paint or burns to yourself. Wear washing up gloves if possible!

  2. Soak the Sticker: Dip a clean cloth or sponge into the warm soapy water and place it over the vinyl sticker. Make sure to cover the entire sticker with the warm water-soaked cloth. If possible try and push into the sticker, particularly on the corners where the sticker is more able to free itself.

  3. Let it Sit: Allow the warm water to soak into the sticker for a few minutes. This will help soften the adhesive and make it easier to remove.

  4. Peel Off the Sticker: After the sticker has soaked for a few minutes, use your fingers or a plastic card to gently peel off one corner of the sticker. Sometimes simple going over the edges with a sponge or cloth will be enough. Slowly peel it back, keeping it as flat as possible against the surface of the car. If the sticker resists, reapply warm water and let it soak for a bit longer.

  5. Remove Residual Adhesive: Once the sticker is removed, there may still be some adhesive residue left on the car. You can use a mixture of warm water and mild detergent to gently scrub away the residue. Alternatively, you can use a commercial adhesive remover if necessary.

  6. Rinse and Dry: After removing the sticker and adhesive residue, rinse the area with clean water to remove any remaining soap or residue. Dry the area thoroughly with a clean cloth.

  7. Inspect and Repeat if Necessary: Check the area to ensure all residue is removed. If there are still remnants, repeat the process until the surface is clean.

  8. Optional: Wax or Polish: If desired, you can apply wax or polish to the area to protect the paint and restore its shine.

By using warm soapy water and patience, you can effectively remove vinyl stickers from your car without the need for any special equipment.

WARNING - Never use bleach or other abrasive cleaner on your car. This can and more likely, will, damage the cars paint work.
